FREE CUTTING STEELS

These steels are developed to offer good machinability. Due to the addition of S and Pb the chip length during cutting, drilling and turning is greatly reduced. This enables these materials to be processed unsupervised on CNC machines.

Free cutting steels are used in many production processes with CNC machines, automatic, cemiautomatic or CNC milling machines. The major use of Free cutting steel is in the automobile industry, military, agricultural machinery, hydraulic fittings and metal industry.

In CEL-MER we are specialized especially on the hot rolling and cold drawing of free cutting steels in different grade / size combinations.

One of our strongest points is the hot rolling and cold drawing of bigger flat, square and sppecial free cutting steel bars besides the commonly used round cold drawn bars.
